If You Die Without Watching These Anime, Did You Even Live?
To be frank. Each of us has our favourite movies, shows and stories but there are certain animes which seem to be a complete experience. The one that keeps with you even after the credits have scrolled. It is not about revolting cartoons in Japan. they are emotional roller coasters, philosophical trips and mind bending art.
Here it goes, some bold yet truthful list: in case you leave this world without having seen these anime, did you even live?
This article is directed to a newcomer or this person who has practically been raised on equal parts of reruns of Naruto.
1. Attack on Titan - Brutal, Bold and Brilliant
Just think of that experience: all your life you live in these great walls, since there are man-eating giants beyond the walls. That is the world of Attack on Titan, however, it is more than meets the eye.
This anime begins as survival and becomes a mind-boggling political thriller. It has unexpected turns that you will not be able to talk about, and situations when you start to doubt the personkind itself.
It is violent, right? Yet it is quite pondering and has stunning storytelling and characters who will travel with you. It is not a job that is suitable to everyone but a hundred percent worth it.
In my opinion, If Attack on Titan doesn’t haunt you for life, you didn’t really get it.
2. Death Note Ultimate Moral Game
First is the traditional one. Death Note is this anime that will make you wonder everything: is it right or wrong, is it just or unjust and what can occur when a person becomes a god.
The brilliant student Light Yagami has been given a notebook, to which he can murder any person by simply writing his/her name. Sounds simple? Just wait till you read what mind games were played on one another by him and the shadowy detective, L.
It is sharp, intense and will make you glued to every episode. This one even those who do not watch anime got addicted to it.
3. Your Name (Kimi no Na wa) A Time-Traveling Love Story
Not all anime battle and power up. Your Name is a gorgeous animated movie cross-breeding romance, comedy and time traveling to some extent. It concerns the story of two teenagers that keep switching bodies at random and fall in love with each other but there is a big event that occurs which turns everything.
I remember being on a rainy Sunday and sitting in silence, as this movie finished in front of me. That is the type of film. In case you have ever lost a someone who you loved, or even felt like the cosmos is messing with you, then this one is going to slap you.
4. Spirited Away The Studio-Ghibli Assisted Magical Movie
This movie would be the soul of anime.
Spirited Away is about the adventures of a young girl Chihiro in the world of spirits where she goes to rescue her parents. However, it is not just a fantasy movie, it is a story of development, amazement, and magic.
This is one anime that attracts both the children and the adults alike. The hand drawing work, the soothing music, the ridiculous-but-still-pretty people... it is art. Easy and simple.
Even my mum, who did not watch animes at all, liked this one.
5. Naruto - The One That Showed a generations of people that they should never give up.
Honestly, no list of animes could be full without Naruto. It is an exploit of a boy who is always rejected by his village yet he hopes of being the strongest ninja and getting everyone to respect him.
It is easy to understand the reason why Naruto turned out to be a cultural sensation: because it has heart. The relationships, the suffering, the death these are all something we can put ourselves in. And then those training curves and heroic combats? Chef’s kiss.
When you have some time, go ahead and read this one. It is a lot of episodes, yet it is worth it.
6. A Silent Voice - More than a Thousand Destressing Tears on Bullying and Redemption
This one brings me down.
A Silent Voice is not a regular anime. It is written on such sensitive subjects as bullying and depression or the process of forgiveness. The lead is a former bully of a deaf school girl, who attempts to patch things up several years afterward. What ensues is a moving experience of guilt, healing and finding people.
You may tear a couple of tears. Well that is all right. This anime is like a slight reminder that we can change and all people need a second chance.
7. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood- The Alchemy between Action and Emotion
Two brothers attempt to resurrect their mother with alchemy and suffer a high price. It is the opening about this epic story.
The Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood show is a linear mix of a thrilling story, serious ideas such as sacrifice and loyalty, and one of the finest character developments you can have.
It has action, comedy, love, and wisdom all in the same product. You will laugh, you will cry and possibly would like to view it once again.
8. Demon Slayer when an art meets an action
You would have read of this one. It is everywhere, and with a reason.
Demon Slayer has beautiful visuals, heart-wrenching plot, and an enjoyable protagonist, Tanjiro, who only wants to save his sister. The combat scenes are breath-taking literally (Episode 19... you will know).
Even though you are not a fan of swords and demons, watch it to see the visuals. It is akin to viewing poetry on the move.
Final Thoughts
The number of anime is no less than hundreds but there are definitely some that will shift your mind set, make you feel something out of this world or one that you will never forget.
Whereas, in case you have not watched anime before, do not panick. Read one of them, at least, on this list, and I will guarantee--you will not be able to stop.
Therefore, next time when any of your colleagues say it is just a cartoon show them this list and question them:
So how can you die without watching these anime? Did you lead a decent life?
